Bi-component nonwoven fabric
Bicomponent nonwoven fabrics achieve versatility by combining two polymers within the same fiber, eliminating the need for chemical adhesives. We produce short-fiber nonwoven fabrics using bicomponent thermal bonding nonwoven technology, achieving excellent strength. The cross-sectional structure of the fiber is key to achieving specific functions. Common configurations include: core-sheath type, where one polymer (sheath) completely or partially encapsulates another polymer (core), suitable for applications requiring specific surface properties or adhesive performance; side-by-side type, where the two polymers are distributed side-by-side along the fiber axis, utilizing their different shrinkage rates to create natural crimp, thus imparting excellent elasticity and bulkiness to the material; and segmented disc type (or orange segment type), where the two polymers are alternately segmented like orange segments, which can be mechanically or chemically split into ultrafine fibers, greatly improving filtration efficiency and providing a soft touch. Based on these diverse cross-sectional designs, common polymer combinations include PET/PE, PET/PP, PP/PE, PET/COPET, PET/PA6, PLA/COPLA, PA/COPA, PP/COPP, etc., which can be customized to specific performance requirements.
Advantage of Bi-component nonwoven fabric
Compared to other nonwoven fabrics, our materials are high-strength, durable, and elastic, with a smooth, lint-free surface. They exhibit excellent heat-sealing properties, enabling self-adhesion or lamination with films;
The softness, thickness, breathability, and hydrophilicity/hydrophobicity can be customized to meet diverse application needs.
